FAQs
At Alia Li Designs, a luxury interior design studio serving New Jersey and the tri-state area, we believe in clear communication and transparency. Below are answers to our most frequently asked questions.
HOW DO I GET STARTED WITH YOUR SERVICES?
We begin with a complimentary Discovery Call, where we’ll walk you through our process, discuss your needs, and answer any questions you may have—no obligation required.
HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL PROJECT TAKE?
Project timelines vary depending on the scope of work and services selected. While we do our best to maintain schedules, delays can occasionally occur due to factors outside our control—such as weather, vendor schedules, factory errors, or other unforeseen circumstances. All parties involved (designer, client, vendors, and contractors) are expected to work collaboratively and avoid unnecessary delays.
ARE THERE ANY EXTRA COSTS OR HIDDEN FEES?
We believe in transparency and will outline all known costs in your proposal before work begins. However, in both residential and commercial design, unforeseen expenses can arise. These may include, but are not limited to, changes in project scope, rush shipping fees, increased vendor pricing, additional labor, or structural/technical issues discovered during the process.
We will always inform you of any additional costs as soon as they are identified and will seek your approval before moving forward. Our goal is to ensure there are no surprises—only well-communicated decisions.
HOW WILL WE COMMUNICATE REGARDING A PROJECT?
Communication is extremely important during your design process. All communication will be through the client portal, scheduled phone calls, and video meetings.
DO YOU WORK WITH CONTRACTORS?
Yes. We coordinate with contractors you hire directly. Alia Li can provide a list of trusted professionals for you to consider; however, we do not employ or provide contractor services ourselves. Independent architects and contractors hired by the client play an essential role in the overall process.
WHO MANAGES SPECIAL TRADESMEN DURING THE PROJECT?
Once a contract is signed with a tradesman we will manage the special trades throughout the project from start to finish. Your designer will provide the details needed to execute the design.
WHO PAYS THE SPECIAL TRADESMEN DURING THE PROJECT?
All special tradesmen are paid directly from the client. Unless the specialty job is added to the proposal and the proposal is approved and paid by the client. The designer will then disperse those funds to the tradesman to complete the job.
